Southington Community Cultural Arts (SoCCA) strives to create a welcoming environment where people of all ages and abilities are free to imagine, create, exhibit and welcome the arts into their lives. An open door for all local cultural activities and art organizations, we seek to provide a place for the sharing of artistic talent and enriching the quality of life in our community.
Bread for Life is a nonprofit organization whose mission Life is to provide food, fellowship and a sense of dignity to those in need so that no one goes hungry in our community. Their vision is accomplished through programs such as their Lunch Program where meals are served daily in their kitchen, meal and grocery delivery for qualifying homebound citizens within our community, serving meals to Southington’s senior community, School Breakfast Program to insure breakfast is available to students in our public schools and Summer Lunch Program for children of low-income families and those who are receiving free or reduced hot lunch during the school year.
Southington Community Services Department (SCS)provides support services to Southington residents and serves as a link between private providers, human services and governmental agencies Food Pantry and clothing for qualifying families and individuals, Energy Assistance, Holiday programs such as Easter baskets, Back to School Programs, Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets and many other programs to assists residents in needs.
Invests in 16 agencies that provided community wide services that range from infants to the elderly. This commitment proves that lives do change when a community cares. Some of these agencies include Nutmeg Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Margaret Griffin Child Development Center, Prudence Crandell House, Senior Transportation Service and YMCA Sexual Assault Crisis Center.
